hey guys, i know there’s a lot of cute animal content out on these here internets, but please, please learn to think critically about these things. People touching/hugging/otherwise interacting with wild animals is a bad idea, and often illegal. Predator and prey species being kept together is a bad idea. Animal behavior and stress signals are not intuitive so you probably can’t tell how an animal is feeling from a picture or video. Just because it looks like it’s “smiling” doesn’t mean that it’s happy, and just because it isn’t struggling doesn’t mean it isn’t stressed.
i don’t want to sound mean, but these things encourage dangerous behavior that can lead to both humans and animals being hurt.
revolutionary idea: pet ownership is not a human right.
cats scratch. dogs bark. certain rare pets are not adapted to living in a regular domestic setting. if your home is not suited for an animal to express their most basic natural behaviours or your situation makes absolutely predictable traits into dealbreakers, then you should not have that kind of pet. “but i want one” is not an acceptable excuse for owning an animal you won’t provide for.
Fucking me @ any douche that declaws their cats or debarks their dogs. Get fucked.
Most of our perception of what Goblin sharks looks like comes from dead specimines where they are all mangled and shrivelled, and are always positioned with their jaws protruding out.
When while alive they only ever extend their jaw for feeding, and arnt half as creepy looking
they do look like goblins
this also disregards the fact that they can still propel their jaws forward like an aquatic xenomorph from hell
So can many other fish, I’m just not judging them for their beautiful smile.
