So, it’s been a couple of years in the making, and I must thank everyone for their patience, as Bestiary Alphabetum vol. 1 and 2 are now available for purchase! As of right now, they’re only in softcover, but if the demand is high, I will upload hardcover editions as well.
Relationships get so bananas when you start deciphering the other person’s love language.
Like I thought I was just acquaintances with this person because they never told me details about themselves and we just talked movies and writing . But then they made time to have coffee with me and they showed up out of breath because they ran. Like. RAN to be on time for coffee with me?
And I was like “i don’t mind waiting” cause I never want to run
But they said they wanted every minute they could get because I’m so busy usually
Which is when it clicked that I didn’t get how much they considered me a friend because I just straight away didn’t see MY signs of affection in them and went “cool! Casual buds it is.” But now that I’m seeing their signs of affection, I feel a little silly for dismissing them like that even though I felt like we could be best bros.
Anyway, some people show affection through time or intensity or commitment and not vocally. I really have to remember that!
Doesn’t matter if it’s in the comments and reblogs with generated messages, or following you so they can leech off of your humanity – porn bots are everywhere on tumblr, and reporting them is a good way to get that shit to stop.
A friendly guide in case you’re unaware of the ways of bot purging:
Step 1: Open Literally Any Popular Post
you will find them
you can generally tell that they’re a bot pretty easily. just look for the blogs that make weird comments like the above, don’t have any personal posts, and mostly contain reblogs w/ comments, or unsourced NSFW images with a wall of tags
Step 2: Open The Blogs On Your Dash, and Hit Report
if there’s only a block button and no report option, go to https://tumblr.com/dashboard/blog/*insert url here* and you’ll be able to view the blog on the dash and report them
Step 3: Block and Report as SPAM
that’s right, you heard me, as spam. not sensitive content, because that’ll probably just get their posts marked “sensitive” and that doesn’t help us
nsfw content is allowed on tumblr; that’s not the problem here – it’s the bots. What they’re doing is spam – creating hundreds of blogs and following and reblogging to the point where it fills the tags and notes. It’s spam.
So go on, and help make tumblr a slightly less shitty place to be!
