enough about makeup culture, let’s talk about diet culture. let’s talk about how many people die every year from complications of eating disorders and let’s talk about how, by some estimates, up to 70% of american women engage in disordered eating. let’s talk about the psychology underpinning eating disorders and how it ties in with purity and misogyny. i don’t care about makeup anymore.

Can we also talk about how so many aspects of fit culture include disordered eating, but because it’s all healthy food in low caloric, obsessive calorie / nutrition counting in hopes that the body will change the way it digests and uses food – because of pseudoscience- it’s not seen as disordered eating?

I don’t know how else to phrase it but it’s like. Really. Sad. And not the same as people who just eat healthy.
